Wonder Lake Yacht Club
The early 1990's brought a renaissance to the Wonder lake Yacht Club. The C Scow fleet has grown, and attendance at social functions increased to all time highs.

Each year since 1994, at least one new sailor has joined the fleet now approaching 20 C Scows. The Sunday C scow races regularly have 10 to 12 boats on the starting line. The club also has a Saturday instructional fleet for newer sailors to hone their racing skills. We have Laser racing for young and old on weeknights.

The WLYC is the oldest social organization in the Wonder Lake area. The late 1990's saw a growth in popularity of the Club's social events. The annual Venetian Night is scheduled on Labor Day weekend.

The evening parade takes place around the lake with various types of boats, artfully decorated with colored lights. It's not uncommon to see between 20 - 30 boats cueing up around the lake, with hundreds of local residents cheering and waving flashlights from the shore.

WLYC most popular event is the Progressive Dinner. This event is held in mid to late August, and includes five stops at various lake front homes. The Dinner begins with Cocktails and Appetizers, followed by Soup and Salad, then on to the Entree. The final two stops are Entertainment, followed by Dessert and After Dinner Drinks. Travel is by pontoon boat, and each year there is a different theme, both boats and participants are decorated and attired appropriately.

The club has hosted as many as 80 members and friends, with the Progressive Dinner being the most favorite and successful social event of the year.
